The Carousel

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Round and round I go

back where I started

back on the horse

back in the plastic cage

past joys door.

All I see are shining lights

bombarded by sounds I abhor.

Then-silence,

the voices are muted

the vibrations unfelt.

The mouths move and smile

the hair shakes and shines

and I sit on the carousel

with no movements of mine.
